Short sleeves, light trousers

Mommy, I should wear short sleeves and light trousers at home, because it's 23° in my room.

Try it: where's your baby?

Why we built it

Every night with a new baby came with the same question: short sleeves or long, and which sleep sack? So we built a button that answers it, in our baby's own voice. Now it's for every baby.

How it works

Three steps. The last one takes a second.

    💬 Calls you Mommy

    1

    Tell it about your baby

Their name, their birthday, and what they call you. Advice changes a lot in the first year, so age matters.

    Tap the big button

It checks the weather where you are, how it changes over the next hours, and the temperature of the room.

  3. Short sleeves today, Mommy! It's 23° in my room.

    Your baby answers

The outfit, a drawing of it, and why: at home, for going out, or for sleep, with the right sleep sack.

Bedtime

Dressed for 4 AM, not just for bedtime.

  • The right sleep sack. From the standard room-temperature chart, for how cold the room will get before morning.
  • Safe sleep, built in. Never a hat, a blanket or anything loose in the crib. Too warm is treated as the bigger risk.
  • A nudge if the night changes. If it turns colder than planned, you're told which sack to switch to.

Where our numbers come from

  • 16–20°C is the bedroom temperature the NHS and The Lullaby Trust recommend.
  • Safe sleep rules (on their back, a fitted sleep sack, no hat, nothing loose, don't overheat) follow the American Academy of Pediatrics, the NHS and The Lullaby Trust.
  • TOG ratings follow the standard chart printed by sleep-sack makers.

A guide, not medical advice. Check their chest or the back of their neck: if it's hot or sweaty, take a layer off.

A heads-up before it changes

Tonight's sleep outfit at bedtime, and a ping before it turns colder, hotter or rainy.

🌙

Tonight: Long sleeves, 1 TOG sack now

Mommy, I should wear long sleeves and my 1 TOG sack tonight.

🧥

Getting colder now

Heads up, Mommy: it'll feel like 13° by 4 PM. If we go out, bring my cardigan.

🌧️

Rain on the way now

Rain's coming around 3 PM, Mommy. If we go out, pack the rain cover.
