Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 October 2026Baby OOTD tells you what your baby should wear from the weather and the room. We collect as little as we can, we never sell data, and there are no ads or trackers in the app.
Kept on your phone only
- Your babies' names, birth dates and what they call you.
- Saved places, photos, Memories, the closet and its photos, and plans.
Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Sent to our server to answer a request, then not kept
- Checking an outfit, planning an outing, a trip or the calendar: the baby's first name, birth date, what they call you, and the place (coordinates). We use them to work out the outfit and write the message, and do not store them.
- Adding clothes to the closet: a small copy of the photo of the piece of clothing, to say what it is. It is not stored.
Kept on our server, only if you turn on notifications
To send bedtime outfits and weather heads-ups we keep your babies' first names and birth dates, what they call you, your place, time zone, temperature units, your notification choices, your phone's push address, and the last 50 notifications we sent. Turning notifications off deletes all of it.
Who helps us
- Cloudflare runs our server.
- PostHog (in the US) counts how this website is used.
- Anthropic (Claude) writes the outfit messages and identifies clothing photos. It receives what is described above for each request and does not use it to train its models.
- Open-Meteo provides the weather and receives the place's coordinates.
- Expo delivers push notifications.
- Apple and Google handle subscriptions; we never see your payment details.
The waitlist on this website
If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address and whether you have an iPhone or an Android phone, to email you about Baby OOTD: your spot on the list and the day the app is available. We also keep a short code for your share link, and which friend's link you joined with, if any, to work out your spot, and your time zone and country, to email you at a sensible hour. Other people on the list see the spots near theirs without any names or emails: only how many friends each brought and, when at least three people on the list share it, the city or country. If you vote on the wishlist or add an idea, we keep your votes and ideas with your code; other people see the ideas and the totals, never who added or voted for what. It is stored with Cloudflare. Every email has a link to stop them. To be removed from the list, email info@buttercloud.com.
How this website is used
This website uses PostHog to count visits and see which buttons are used, such as joining the waitlist or sharing your link, so we can make it better. It does not use cookies; it keeps a random ID in your browser's storage. It is not sent your email address: if you join the waitlist, it knows you only by your share code. Typed text is hidden from it.
Photos and faces
Finding faces to cover in OOTD photos happens on your phone. Those photos are never uploaded by Baby OOTD; they leave your phone only if you share them.
Children
Baby OOTD is for parents and carers. It is not directed at children, and the baby details you enter are used only as described here.
Your choices
You can delete babies, photos and Memories in the app, turn notifications off (which deletes what we keep for them), or delete the app. For any question, or to ask what we hold about you, email info@buttercloud.com.
